On 9th July at 9:16pm ET which would be probably 10th July for most places ex US, Sun and Moon would come together at 18º02’ Cancer with Moon exalted, with our intuition and emotions being a key beacon of an inspiring seed we would plant here. This new moon positively interacts with the volatility we are in middle of which means this new start can both support as well as be driven by the need for sudden shifts and changes we are experiencing. Its surely inspiring but it would be challenged pretty soon after as anything we do driven by heart. Its our moment of support to self in the middle of some very difficult and sudden changes. Today, we will talk of the influence on personal and global events along with the dos or don’ts or rather the questions you should ask yourself during this very intuitive and intimate moment of connection with self. Seldom we are gifted with new moons so inspiring in middle of harsh changes, take advantage of it. Set some positive intentions and it’s a cardinal new moon — get on with them.

Sun in Cancer has been through quiet a journey to get here — to begin with feeling incapable to shine in some ways, feeling we are not allowed to be seen, being pretty good at inspiring others but not being able to do it for ourself. To being disrupted from norm in some ways like something is trying to break our own thinking pattern or emotional pattern or something is trying to get us out of rut which can feel disruptive but it totally changes your perspective. This comes through normally change in your surrounding or in our personal situation, bringing much needed change in our static existence. This is creative personal inner change that you might have experienced amongst the volatility or even driven by the volatility of the events leading up to this new moon. I was literally pushed out of my house due to jack hammer sound all day long riling my natal Mars square Uranus to no end, only to reignite my desire to write and discover a much more inspiring place to do it.

Now that the soil below our feet has been churned a bit and Mercury our mind comes out of shadow to become visible and it would be illuminated with Jupiter right after the new moon on 12th, we are in this moment driven & encouraged to sow a seed of change. A change that brings the season change in our life like the Summer does — revitalising us. Neptune trine is waking our idealism which gives the kind of clarity that facts seldom achieve. No amount of number crunching, making lists of pros and cons will get you to see the truth as this does, cause nothing seems truer under this Cancer new moon than fulfilling our spiritual and emotional needs which are way more honest than materials ones. Something feels right with the world. Cancer is archetype of womb to tomb — the most authentic parts of ourselves — how we were nurtured and how we would leave and dissolve back into the ground we came from.

Exalted Moon in Cancer is deeply healing, creative, peaceful and connects us to what truly motivates us from within, it unconditionally connects us to love for self by creating recognition of our needs. We create what we create driven by that recognition.

I said it before Cancer is a cardinal sign and its not about drowning in your emotions — its about honoring your emotions and taking actions by respecting your gut feeling versus trying to bury it. This new moon comes during a volatile moment — it could be a move driven by that volatility or a change that helps us manage this volatility. You cannot do Leo season without Cancer season. You cannot go out laugh, shine, be on a stage, take life’s risk, love fully, create extension of yourself in a child or an art work or business or a passion for another, if you haven’t cleaned house, you haven’t honoured your soul, haven’t listened to your own self and quote unquote gotten your house in order.

Cancer forms the emotional ground we stand on and we need something significantly different done here. Uranus and Neptune both encourage us to move homes in some ways — change the things we derive comfort from, change the place we call home and change our emotional state and our emotional responses to situations. This comes to support a tough shift we are making in our life this year driven by the Saturn Uranus Square covered by sign in your 2021 reading activated by Leo planets in July and August. Its a “no matter what I got you” moment with self.

This new moon honours both Neptune and Uranus — its honours both our need for change and our need for soul’s love and fulfilment. Its far from shallow, its not an easy step but its come after two years of back and forth and eclipses in Cancer over 2019 and 2020. We through this new moon making peace with our gut feeling which actually began to come up in April 2019 and was possibly through a closure or ending or conclusion fully showed up physically in Jan 2020. This has been ignored or compromised on possibly repeatedly due to external demands, logic, worldly duties, old structures of our life and society. But its like when you know you know.

As the fixed corners of our life rattle and sometimes break during this year, Cancer is the answer to the question — What can I do about it ?

𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗲𝘀

Typically new starts linked to Cancer themes comes to focus — which is home, safety, security, personal property, kitchen, parents, parenthood, small businesses especially dealing with women/children, domestic business, domestic security affairs, imports, water bodies, shelled creatures, fishery, storage, enclosure, creatives especially musicians, cooks, child care, pregnancy, fertility, moms. Food and nourishment are key changes. Deeply personal changes are normally made and as our right brain is activated this is normally very fertile time for the creatives. Family past is usually focused on or our own. It normally doesn’t rain, it pours internally and externally — flooding is possible and heavy rains are common.

Any healing or change in reproductive organs — womb, breasts, hormones and in water content of our body is seen during this time. Our body retains more fluid usually and emotions or sensitivity is higher as this new moon does influence the brain chemistry as well as hormones.

The new moon sits on the midpoint of Sun Mercury of United States chart which normally indicates a news about of the administration or President or big business. Last in July 2010 when this degree was activated by an Eclipse we had the Wikileaks moment — 92,000 pages on Afghanistan war were leaked to media. This was over and above the March 2010 Iraq war leaks also indicated by recent Capricorn full moon. First Instagram post was also made during this activation in 2010 — big media businesses begin.

Cancer new moon could see some military action or protection measures possibly taken by the state as it activates the Mars of country or we could hear some protectionist steps taken. Cancer new moon is emotional time, I would be careful in metro areas considering Mars activation and look out for any power outages.

This new moon falls on the moon of United Kingdom in 10th house just as in 2010, usually indicates widespread change in people’s opinion in terms of party affiliation or administration or which country they belong to (Moon is mother archetype) — we saw Labor party’s government ending in 2010. It also started Euro-scepticism leading to Brexit referendum. Uranus will go retrograde on Mars of UK in August when the volatility can peak, we would see a build up to that volatility possibly with shift in people opinion during this transit. It can show up in shift in people opinion on Scottish independence. This can be a tough period for a country as volatility is high at a time when people emotions are high too. August Leo new moon is a very surprising one.

𝗛𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆

We have been here before in July 2010, we spoke of it in Capricorn full moon too. 2010 especially first half is a key frame. This new moon was activated back then in Jan/Feb 2010- it was also the time Jupiter was transiting the same degrees it transits this July. What changes in your personal life or driven by trusting your gut were made back then. The issue is in 2010 we had south node in Cancer — the decisions driven by gut or for emotional balance or soul’s calling were possibly done without receiving any returns. They were made like a piggyback investment in your good karma. There was more inclination still to grow through honoring whats right per the structures of our life — for the commercial growth, for the traditional growth. E.g. even if home changes were made at the time they could be driven by career. One of my clients changed their place of living under this influence but they had to give up their soul’s calling at the time to follow a corporate career.

This time is different in that sense from 2010. What your gut told you has ended in April 2019 and possibly Jan 2020 showed you physically that something has ended or something dramatically different needs to be done. That is not just honoring your soul, your gut feeling, your personal comfort and needs — its also your road to forward movement of growth. This is no charity, this is no selfless service yes it’s driven by emotional needs, its driven by authentic voice within and responding to your inner calling but — “this is practical nourishment for your outreaching efforts”

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁𝘀 “𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹” ?

In Sabian symbol 18º Cancer is shown as “A hen scratching the ground to find nourishment for her progeny”. It points to mining, ploughing, prospecting for minerals. But its more than that. The chicken scratch to make a nest even if you might give them an artificial nest, they prefer to make themselves a place. This is also the process of getting down and dusty — its call dust bathing — chicken gets rid of all of their ticks and parasites as they go through this process which can look messy from outside but its actually a form of purification. They do it for bonding — we all can have our differences but everyone want to nurture theirs and this is the base living behaviour that brings people together — this wanting to nurture and wanting to do anything to protect theirs. Reminds me of all moms ready to dive over each other to get a flower of broccoli during the brief food shortage at onset of quarantine risking getting the disease itself. Ah well the things we do for food.

Sometimes we are called literally to find nourishment for our family here to protect them from the volatility and to bring them more comfort and love. As I mentioned in Capricorn full moon, the same brings drought — now in that how we find resources could be a key theme.

Mercury Jupiter coming together on 12 July can help provide some comfort in form of news or information or discussion. This next level will come only after a tough change though — there is a fixed wall you are hitting and unless you break through that — we would only reach comfort zone and not all the things that come right on the verge of getting out of comfort zone. Cancer season is beginning not the end — its where changes are initiated but they are solidified in Leo season in August where we build further on this, where we go out of comfort zone to those outreaching activities and Mars is giving you a good preview of that this month which would culminate with a very surprising August new moon.

The new moon would happen near the twin fixed stars of Castor and Pollux indicating the duality embedded in this new start. Their influences show dealing with polarity of human nature and the need to reconcile these two sides of our nature to create a literary or life’s masterpiece like William Blake’s “The Marriage of Heaven and Hell” — the unified vision of material world & desire with divine order. He presented hell as a source of repressed energy and heaven as order and rational thinking.

His book categorised people into “energetic creators” and “rational organizers” — in this new start both the elements need to exist to create the masterpiece. We would need to go to both the stable “Heaven” and an energized “Hell” to get there.

He claimed life always involved a struggle between these two elements of us each battling for control over existence of humanity. The philosophy being best art combined the two and every human life involved these two fighting elements trying to take control — two cognitive states that exists in all living beings. You need form and structure to make coherent art and you need the vitality and passion for art to exist in first place.

This is expression of our fragmented consciousness we would experience in its wholeness with both sides of our existence being thrown to us to create the masterpiece that is Greek tragedy of our life. But no masterpiece is created without both — we would have to go to heaven for order and hell for strength.

The star having spiritual, artistic influence gives us a chance to create a great masterpiece of creative nature if we combine these elements. This star creates risk of injury to feet which we should be cautious of especially if your rising/sun/moon or other planets or points aspect this new Moon at 18º Cancer.

Remember under the influence of this new moon we are trying to fill our cup and struggle if any is unnecessary as Cancer new moon is more about being open to receive or letting a natural choice flow through you versus struggling to get. Its a feminine archetype moon not a masculine or Martian archetype. So what puts you in the receptive mood is required. For some its surrender and for some its releasing a psychological block and for some a soulful practice like yoga, meditation or even astrology or silence even just puts the mind in that moment of nothingness when we are able to let the universe show us what it wants to as its plan. The struggle has to cease here cause the struggle isn’t really getting us where we need to go. The plants do not struggle to extract the nourishment from soil they grow in — its not that work is not there but struggle is different from work, much of the struggle and suffering driven by it is unnecessary and avoidable as it honestly just exhausts us by the time we get what we were going for. Even if you get it — we aren’t left with any life within us to enjoy it. Capricorn archetype finds this lazy or inadequate as it believes in karma being the dharma — we reap what we work for philosophy. We all have a bit of Capricorn in all of us and sometimes we have a person in our life who physically embodies that archetype of harshly caring, efficient and may be cold authority of our life — the concept of what we could be if we didn’t “care” or “emote” or spend our time on “feelings”. Do not doubt for a minute that — that part of you wouldn’t come out to play. It would and we would feel the pressure but we would have found hopefully our sea legs during the period building up to 17 July. 17 July is when we would find all our doubts wrapped up in a physical person opposing us through a power struggle or fight show up. Like we need to physically fight our self doubt to move forward. Observe what this conflicts shows you of yourself — for it would show a pattern thats irrevocably being removed from this powerful turning point.
